Press release
Kyiv, January 2022 – Global law firm Dentons has advised Dionis Biogas Energy LLC on the implementation of the first biomethane project in Ukraine, representing an important milestone in the creation of a bioenergy ecosystem in the country. The project is located in Zhytomyr region and will be able to produce up to 20 mln cubic meters a year.
Dentons provided full scope legal support on the project, including advice on regulatory, energy and land law matters. The team consisted of Kyiv-based partner Maksym Sysoiev, together with senior associate Natalia Levchuk, and associates Victor Marchan and Volodymyr Omelchenko.
“Recently the Ukrainian parliament passed the biomethane law, which will support the development of the industry in Ukraine, and open up the possibility to export biomethane outside of the country,” said Maksym Sysoiev. “This project is a major milestone for both Dionis Biogas Energy and the Ukrainian market, and I am honored that our client entrusted Dentons to support them on this journey.”
