The purpose of the publication is a comprehensive analysis of biomass as a renewable energy source, an overview of modern technologies for the production of thermal and electrical energy from biomass, as well as solid, liquid, and gaseous biofuels. Currently, biomass is the fourth energy source in the world. The sustainable development of bioenergy makes it possible to reduce Ukraine’s dependence on expensive imported energy sources and ensure the effective use of local resource potential.
