Comprehensive analysis of biomass boilers market in Ukraine was conducted within the UNDP GEF project “Development and commercialization of bioenergy technologies in the municipal sector in Ukraine” by experts of the SEC “Biomass” (member of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine). The aim of the project is to accelerate the processes associated with the use of agricultural biomass in municipal heat supply sector and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Currently, there is the lack of objective data about the market prospects for production and implementation of biofuel boilers in Ukraine. The dynamic development of a new sector of thermal energy from biomass, national targets for increasing the share of renewable energy, the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions need to determine not only the current state of the sector, but also the prospects and scale of development.
The research covers the market of biofuel boilers, that are offered by many manufacturers and sellers, and is based on the study and analysis of production and consumption of the boilers in the period 2012 – 2015. The study covered the entire territory of Ukraine, except temporarily occupied territories. The direction of research – the open market of producers, goods, and their competitiveness.
